Sitting on the banks of the Wye River you will find a bright yellow house which once was the old general store and post office. Today at that bright yellow house you will find MAD Cravings, a modern BBQ restaurant and bakery.
We make everything from scratch using fresh local produce and hormone free meats. Our meat is smoked with local red oak in our outdoor smoker. Our cheddar jalapeno cornbread is baked in a cast iron skillet, the way it should be! Our butter tart recipes are 9 generations old and features currants.
Our food is a mix of old and new. We have kept a lot of your favourites from Mad Michaels but added some fresh new flavours to the mix. Our menus feature house smoked meats, wood fire grilled fish and unique boards to share. We have something for everyone to crave.
Geoff and Sarah met in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Geoff was working for the Canadian Forces. Sarah was a Sous Chef at a French Bistro. Sarah trained at the Culinary Institute of Canada, in Prince Edward Island. When Geoff’s father, Mad Michael, was set to retire they jumped at the opportunity to carry on the madness and Mad Cravings was born!
